about

hello! i’m vanessa. i’m from culver city, CA. i’m currently finishing my m.s. in applied biostatistics and epidemiology and my b.s. in global health at the university of southern california in los angeles. i also somehow ended up minoring in theatre.

when i entered college, i imagined that i’d go straight into an epidemiology phd program after undergrad. i realized that might not be the right path for me anymore when theatre and comedy became a more and more significant part of my life. through this eclectic training, i have developed an unusual (the nice thing to say would be “unique”) skill set.

i look forward to opportunities to continue developing as a theatre artist and as a cross-disciplinary researcher. my creative and scholarly work has increasingly converged in the past year as i lean towards subjects and methods that explore the intersection between health and the arts. i am open to any opportunities to continue developing as a theatre artist and interdisciplinary researcher.
